About PAX Gold
PAX Gold is a token backed one-for-one by physical gold held in professional vaults, issued by Paxos. Each PAXG represents ownership of one fine troy ounce of a London Good Delivery bar. It lets holders move gold exposure on a blockchain with the speed and divisibility of a digital asset.
How PAX Gold Works
Every token corresponds to a specific allocated bar held in vaults in London. Holders can look up the serial number and specifications of the bar behind their tokens, and larger holders can redeem for the physical metal. Because the token is divisible, exposure can be bought in fractions far smaller than a whole bar.
The History of PAX Gold
Paxos, a New York trust company regulated by the state's Department of Financial Services, launched PAX Gold in 2019. The company also issues regulated dollar-denominated tokens, and applies the same custody and attestation practices to its gold product, with reserve reports published regularly.
What PAXG Is Used For
PAXG is used to hold gold exposure in a form that settles in minutes and can be moved or divided freely. Traders use it to rotate between crypto and a traditional store of value without leaving the blockchain, and it serves as collateral across a range of platforms.

Why buy PAX Gold with YouHodler? +
YouHodler combines advanced security and encryption with a simple way to buy and sell PAXG, fast crypto transactions, support for multiple fiat currencies, and a platform that works for newcomers and experienced traders alike.
Is PAX Gold a good investment? +
PAXG tracks the gold price, so it behaves quite differently from most crypto assets and is often used to reduce portfolio volatility rather than chase upside. The trade-off is counterparty and custody risk: the token is only as good as the issuer and its vaulting arrangements. Gold itself can also fall in value.
Can I buy PAX Gold today and sell it tomorrow? +
Yes. YouHodler supports selling as well as buying, so you can acquire PAXG and later exchange it for fiat currencies such as USD or EUR. Transactions settle quickly, major fiat currencies are supported, and withdrawals go out by bank transfer.
Is it safe to buy PAX Gold? +
Buying PAXG is generally safe on a reliable platform like YouHodler, which applies data encryption, identity verification and multi-layer account protection. The asset itself stays highly volatile, so prices can move sharply over short periods.
How do I convert PAX Gold to cash? +
Connect a bank account, debit card or credit card to your YouHodler profile, exchange your PAXG for a fiat currency such as USD or EUR, then withdraw the balance straight to your bank.
How much is $100 worth of PAX Gold right now? +
That depends on the live PAXG price, which moves constantly. Use the price chart on this page to see the current rate and work out exactly how much PAXG $100 buys at this moment.
